Bordeaux food tours are only some of what we offer!

I’ve been a culinary guide for over a decade now. I love making sure my clients get the best of Bordeaux. Once booked, it doesn’t matter how many emails, send away! The more information I can get from you, the more unique and customized tour you’ll!

Things to tell me when you book are, most importantly, are any allergies or food aversions. And be specific. If you really aren’t going to be open to trying anything and everything, tell me when you book. This is a no-judgment zone. I can create a great tour if you’re a vegan, even in SW France where duck and foie gras rule with enough time to plan. If you don’t want to try oysters, that’s totally fine…I’ll find another fun product to try. Even for non-wine drinkers we can have a great tour with no alcohol or other local options (when available). No gluten? No problem. We can work around this as well with enough notice.

How long are you going to be in Bordeaux? If you are only here one day…let’s get ready to walk and see the whole historic area while trying delicious local pastries and regional wines! If you are here for multiple days, let’s divide the town into small, edible bites dividing up the town!

How easily can you walk and do you have any mobility issues? This is a really important one. We can incorporate a taxi or tram if needed, but it’s best if we can plan in advance. Bordeaux is very flat luckily, still with cobbled streets in some areas, and plenty of bicycles!

From personal experience, when traveling with children…understand their limits as much as your desires. This is one of the hardest things when traveling. I hate giving my kids screens, but if it means I can listen to my guide and try new foods and wine without screaming and the understandable boredom, I’ll do it! I’m equally happy if a guide wants to take me around but give my kids the attention so my husband and I can breathe. When Greg at BasqueBites food tour in San Sebastian took my daughters hand and was talking to her as we strolled…I couldn’t have been happier! She still things Greg is the best! But, she was also enjoying a screen when we were eating pig ears pintxos.

My other advice is to not book a food tour on Sunday or Monday, especially Monday. It’s when most locations are closed and I want to share the most with you! Come curious, ask as many questions as your like…I love to share and discuss! And please stay in touch, I’m always happy to see my new friends again 🙂 Book Your Food Tour – Aquitaine Travel Guide
